Introduction:
Today we will visit the world famous art museum known as the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid, Spain. Follow the instructions for your tour and write down responses to the guided questions as you go.

Task:
In this WebQuest, you will analyze 3 pieces of artwork that you have chosen. You will have to do some initial research on the history of this particular artwork. Once you have completed your artwork analysis, you will create a PowerPoint presentation and share your analysis with Sra.Gutiérrez at [email protected].
Process:
STEP #1: Go and explore some of the artwork in the Museo del Prado. You will need to search by author (artist) and may use the following artists only: Velazquez, El Greco, Goya, Murillo, Ribera or Zurbaran.
Look at a few pieces of artwork that may catch your attention. Narrow down your selection to 3 pieces of artwork that you will analyze. Each piece of artwork must be by a different artist.

STEP #4: Go and explore some of the artwork in the Museo del Prado. A good place to start would be by clicking on the "Collection" tab at the top right-hand side of the page.
STEP #5: Next, you will need to select the 3 pieces you will analyze. Do a "search" and only use the following artists: Velazquez, El Greco, Goya, Murillo, Ribera or Zurbaran. Look at a few pieces of artwork that may catch your attention. Narrow down your selection to 3 pieces. Each piece of art must be from a different artist.
STEP #6: Complete as many responses as you can on the "Analysis Worksheet" for each work of art. Use the worksheet as a guide. You do not necessarily have to answer each question, you may choose instead to focus on certain details related to the art you find most interesting.
For example, you might go into greater detail about the historical background on one piece of work, while focusing on the significance of the background with another piece.
Feel free to do your own searches (on Google, Wikipedia, etc.) to find interesting information about the artwork you are analyzing. Just be sure to identify the site you used in your PowerPoint presentation.
STEP #7: Before beginning your analysis and PowerPoint presentation, you will watch a sample analysis of a French painting called The Death of Socrates. Answer the 6 questions below as you watch the analysis.

Content Requirements:
- Include at least 1 slide for each of the content requirements listed below. You will need to answer these questions for the 3 chosen pieces of art. Upon completion of the PowerPoint you will have a minimum of 24 slides.
- You must include a visual on each PowerPoint slide.
- You can feel free to substitute alternative content slides, except for numbers 1-3 & 8.
- The presentation must be written in your own words and include a list of websites used at the end.
- This assignment is worth 30 points.
